Brian Greene - Director of Project Development

Brian sits on the Green Equations board and leads project development for the organization. Before coming to New York City he obtained a B.S. in Communications from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Brian is also part of the development board at River Wharf, assisting in a project that aims to make Jensen Beach, FL a more sustainable community.

Part of the NBC Olympic broadcasting team for the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, Brian saw first-hand the impact green building practices can have in a dense, polluted urban area. The diverse professional experience Brian contributes to Green Equations is irreplaceable. Brian prides himself on the rigorous, objective work he does with Green Equations and his role in helping the public realize a more sustainable future.

Sarah Gelfand - Project Financing Specialist

Sarah specializes in securing and administering financing for Green Equations’ projects. In her previous work at the Grand Street Settlement House and Foundation for Jewish Culture, Sarah worked with government grants, donors and other sources of project funding, experience she has translated into her work with Green Equations.

Chia Schmitz - Design Consultant

Chia is the lead design consultant for Green Equations. Chia is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Design and Management at Parsons The New School for Design. Her studies concentrate on sustainable design, product development and creative solutions. At Green Equations, Chia oversees the design and effectiveness of all online and print content. She also offers an original perspective on our work in the field, often bolstering our projects with concepts drawn from her studies and professional experience.

Ricardo Pereira - Business Development Coordinator

Ricardo applies his experience in finance to the promotion and organization of Green Equations’ projects. After graduating from Suffolk University in Boston, Ricardo moved to New York to pursue a career in finance. At Green Equations he ensures the professional standard of our projects and is uniquely qualified to assess project funding.
